 Teresa Samolewicz: My art captures the Qi, the Energy that Connects You to Nature, in all her Guises.

If you are like me, these special moments of connection stop you in your tracts.  My art encapsulates this essence, the beauty, the uniqueness, even the ugliness around you, that feeling of being, awe and awareness, the energy of Life. 

I’m Teresa Samolewicz and my contemporary artwork interprets and celebrates Nature, seascapes, landscapes, the flora that surrounds you, and the diversity and beauty of the human figure. If the spirit of my artwork resonates with you then my ‘Galleries’ are for you. My paintings and prints in your home will give you pleasure and enjoyment over many years as I bring Nature’s splendour to You.

 My approach is instinctive in capturing movement and atmosphere in my work. My painting style is intuitive especially when using texture and sparks of colour. I like to blend and ‘feel’ the paint, often mixing it on the canvas and using impressionist mark making. I predominately paint in oils but embrace other media with relish. I aim to distil the essence of the moment as I take my inspiration from the Landscapes of my Mind as well as from the Nature that surrounds us all.  

Glasgow born 1954, I became an Emerging Artist following a teaching career and extensive travel. My catalyst for painting was a semi-circumnavigation in a sailing yacht with my husband. This adventure freed my artistic genie from the bottle. I began to ‘see’ and ‘feel’ as an artist.

My Artist path was set. Tutorage with Glasgow School of Art, Strathclyde University and numerous established artists is on-going, all feeding my innate curiosity and passion for discovery, enthusing my creative growth. My art exploration and journey are alive, thriving and exciting. I just love to learn and explore creatively through a process of discovery.

My painting style is impressionistic and leaning towards abstraction.

Teresa Samolewicz is a member of the SSA, SAU, DAS, MAC, VAA and other local art groups. She regularly exhibits and sells her art.
